KAHNAHKAH HARMONY
Harmony, as the explained by the dictionary, means accord, concord, tune, unity, agreement. So as strange as this moniker may sound for an artiste, the word exemplifies the persona, the heart and soul of this reggae crooner born Sheldon Facey. Very rarely is an artiste so in agreement, in tune and united with the content of his music. Of the over three hundred gems in his songwriting catalogue, Harmony is not ashamed nor does he harbor any form of guilt about his music, because it's all positive, uplifting and expressive at the same time. Even on his sexually toned debut single 'All The Way, ' the artiste exudes a sensitive part of his personality without being lewd or explicit. The song has been endorsed by radio land and fans await the upcoming release of the music video.
Clearly showing signs of being musical enigma, Harmony's music will seep into the bones of music lovers the world over, similarly to those his mentors Dennis Brown, Bob Marley and Garnet Silk. Like these predecessors he has no formal musical training except that which he got via singing on his church's junior and senior choirs as a juvenile. After years of singing, writing and doing countless number of dubplates/specials while serving as part time engineer at 'Wongs Dubplate Studio' in Portmore, St. Catherine Jamaica, he has honed his craft to near perfection. Now he is ready to share with the world Jamaica's best kept secret.... Kahnahkah Harmony.
Kahnahkah, is americ for Fire, a fire that burns in the passion that this artiste has for his music, the same passion that goes into writing his songs. Not one to be afraid of a criticism, he speaks. or rather sings his mind callously on matters he feels worthy of commentary. On his track 'Music is Healing' he chants "Music is now revealing what the world has been hiding from you and me". Then there is the bold 'New World Order' the hard hitting 'Badmind' and the fearless 'Power' that states ' Power should only be given to the ones who can use it' ... all classics.
Another unique quality about Harmony is his very distinct, yet soothingly smooth voice that brings out the best on any rhythm track it touches. His delivery often evokes comparisons with legendary Tracy Chapman, an accolade that he is very proud of. For those who have been fortunate to see this rising star perform at Portland Splash 2002, Orange Bay Splash, Frisco Kids Annual Barbeque or elsewhere, he has made and left his mark on them. His peers in the biz also come in with good praises, from the likes of Mad Cobra, Vybz Cartel, Admiral Tibet, Louie Culture and Glen Ricks all giving credit and encouragement to this talented artiste.
Jamaica and the world. brace yourselves. for Harmony!!
